About
Hi, I am Tsering. I am a graduate student in the Creative Publishing and Critical Journalism program at The New School for Social Research. My work focuses on war, human rights, and justice. As a journalist, I am dedicated to the intersection of politics, media, and advocacy for marginalized and oppressed communities around the globe—from mass displacement in South Sudan and Yemen to women’s rights in Afghanistan, cultural genocide in Tibet, and human rights crises in Uyghur, Taiwan, and Xinjiang.
My expertise lies in meticulous research and editing—skills I currently apply as an editorial intern at Public Seminar and as a copy editor at Back Matter, the
annual publication of The New School for Social Research.
Most recently, I worked on a feature that investigates how China is using education—specifically state-mandate boarding schools—as a tool o erode Tibetan identity. I also write about arts and culture.
